I purchased my Celica in 2006. I bought it from a local guy that had it sitting out in his front yard with a for sale sign on it. I gave him hand money and asked him to put it back in the barn it had been in for the last 5 years and he agreed. I could not believe that I found a '76 Celica!, and GT!, a GT Liftback! in such great condition with only 64,000 miles. I spent several weeks a few winters ago removing all the undercoating under the hood and wheel wells. It preserve the car but looked like crap and since I would be keeping it inside during the winter months, I got rid of it. I also restored all the parts under the hood while I had them out. I changed every fluid in it, new brakes, wheel bearings, muffler, struts, shocks, tires, and pulled out the old knob radio and installed a new Pioneer unit with Polk speakers. I also replaced the head liner and covered the rear shock tower covers since they were a bit faded. I went to Ebay and with the help of my wife, found a pasenger side mirror (it only had the drivers side), newer looking beauty rings, center hub covers, a great aluminum rear window louver, and a few other items. My project still has a way to go. I plan on upgrading the fuel supply system, maybe a new carb or a complete intake from the mianifold up to the holley 4 barrel carb. I want to put a new heavy duty clutch in it too. I am trying to keep it as stock as possible to maintain it's worth and show quality.
