Like all great stories, this one starts with a scandal. Well, not exactly a scandal but a controversy nonetheless.

Round Three of the 2010 Formula Drift season was "The Gauntlet", aka New Jersey's Wall Speedway. And whenever drivers run the gauntlet, they have to deal with a 16-degree banked oval. Many try, most fail. On the last East Coast event of this year's series, these two guys both got to spray some champagne around.

It's Jim Cozzolino's '91 Acura NSX, and after driving it from his hometown of Phoenix, AZ, 400 miles to our L.A. headquarters for competition check-in, he showed our cameras what makes it possibly the best street car we've ever come across.

It could have been the 2000GT from You Only Live Twice. Or maybe Vin Diesel's FD RX-7 from the original F&F flick. Or even the outlaw Supra from the YouTube hit Getaway in Stockholm II. Any kind of movie star car. But no, Archie Concon took his inspiration from Jackie Chan and a Mitsubishi Mirage.
