I began doing website in the mid '90s but my journey into Joomla!TM happened about 2 years ago. I first started looking at some of the Content Management Systems or 'CMS' that were available. The top rated ones are Drupal, WordPress, and Joomla!. I read many articles and even tried a trial offer or two before deciding to use Joomla! as my preferred CMS. The reasons were obvious. Joomla! was the newest in name, but was developed from it's predecessor called Mambo.
Joomla!TM started in mid 2005 with version 1.0 and then it released it's current 1.5 version in 2007. With the release of this version more control was given to the designers by the developers and in turn control passed onto the the end user, you! You are the reason I chose to use Joomla!.
There are countless template variations including a custom built template to acheive the exact look and feel that your website deserves. Joomla!TM extensions allow me to extend the site's interactive goals such as a Virtual Shopping Mart, a Forum or Blog, and many many more.
